Blood Type!

Today I found out what my blood type was! So about 3 weeks ago I gave blood for my very first time! It was an interesting experience! My roommate Zoe went with me to the Blood drive. Shes awesome even though blood and needles make her stomach turn, she accompanied me to my appointment. First I sat in a chair for about half an hour, then they took me to answer a whole bunch of questions, then they pricked my finger and took a little sample of my blood. When they were reviewing my answers, they told me they were gonna have to talk to their supervisor about my situation, because since i had been going and coming from Mexico I might have Malaria. :S so after about another half hour, they finally said i was cleared. By this time i was just wanting to leave, but they took me to this little blue chair. I sat there and the nurse tilted my chair back, at that moment i felt like i was soaking in the sun, but then she brought over the needle and i got really nervous. She told me to look away so i wont faint. FAINT? I was scared then... I plugged in my Ipod so that i could distract myself from the bag that was going to be filled with my blood. She inserted the needle and covered it up with a bandage. It wasn't that bad :O I actually enjoyed looking at my blood fill into a bag. It wasn't a bright red color like i had expected, it was actually more of a purple color. It was fun. They gave me food and told me to rest a little before leaving, and they told me that I would be receiving a donor card and my blood type by mail. So i waited and eventually even forgot about it, and then today Zoe came in and handed me a red envelope (at first i thought it was my NETFLIX DVD) hahah but it wasn't it was a letter from Red Cross!!! :)i opened it, and inside was my card and my blood type! I AM AN O NEGATIVE blood type! I hope that's rare so that i can have more of a reason to donate. I am so excited I saved 3 lives!
