MEXICO:

Oh boy what can I say i've completely hit my limit! I have been here in Mexico for a month and a half now and I can't be here anymore. I don't have any thing to do i'm always bored and my mom comes and nags ALL THE TIME! I guess im just used to living alone and not having anyone bother me or doing my things whenever i feel like it! My problem is that my mom wants me to do everything! In Rexburg I would just cook for myself, and I would clean when i feel and not have to pick up anybody else's stuff! While here I have to clean up the living room and my sister's and family's stuff is EVERYWHERE! I need to get away! Thankfully I'm planning a trip to Laredo so I can get away from mexico and my family!

I know this sounds harsh but sometimes after you have lived on your own, you see the difference when you get back to living at home!

Frost Yourself!

I have always said that my favorite color is Glitter but i haven't really fed that obsession of mine! Yesterday i walked into sally's and found a whole collection of Glitter nail polish. And it's not just the cheap kind that is more of top layer... it's a full on thick glitter nail polish!!! OMG i was so excited that i bought three! I am now the proud owner of some colors by the name of "Dorothy who?", "Blonde Bombshell", and "some like it haute". they are basically Gold, a dark Midnight gray, and dark blue! I was so excited i could go to bed without "frosting" my nails! i ended up going to bed at like 7am (i blame Scrubs and blogger!) but it was worth it my nails look fabulous and i can't stop looking at them! We also had fun today making Christmas cookies with our FHE brother Jared and my three roommates, Ali, Karissa, and Lindsay boyfriend Taylor! Although it took us a while to get the sugar cookie dough right (and at the end it still stuck to my hands) we still had a ton of fun decorating the round cookies! I'm really happy to have have friends to laugh about dumb things with! It was fun to end up with flour and frosting all over ourselves! I'm gonna miss my roommates when i leave for mexico, and then when i go off on a mission! I'm scared but i just ask god for courage and peace! Hope everyone is having fun planning for Christmas!

Tedford Photography

Today was a wonderful day... not only did i sleep in till 11am, but i was able to go take pictures of my cousin and my sister! We decided to go to Smith Park and we took really cute pictures! We had fun taking pictures on a carriage and behind a tree. My cousin started begging for her to take a picture of her in the sun without her shoes on, of course i couldn't resist her cute adorable face so i did and they actually were not bad! But of course she can never take a bad picture! So i also got really pretty pictures of my sister as well she makes a great model! We got some from at the gazebo and had a marvelous time! After we finished with our awesome photo shoot, we went to Walmart to develop the pictures! We had to wait an hour so we decided to go to Cocoa Bean and have some delicious cupcakes and a hot chocolate that burned all my taste buds off (i still can't taste anything)! We went back to Walmart to pick up the pictures and i when asking for them the guy at the counter asked me if i had permission from the photographer to print the pictures because of copyright reasons! I was really confused about what he meant so i slowly stuttered "um i'm the photographer" he looked at me surprised and said oh ok well these are really good! And that made my day! I'm glad my pictures are good enough for people to think they are professional! After this photo shoot i think i have a new motto for life, and it's "Long Live Laughter"!

This (little girl's) American Life.

OK ok so If you are my roommate Matice, do not read past this point. If she knew i was talking once more about my currently favorite show, she'd roll her big blue eyes so far back that I don't think they would come back. Yes, I have a new obsession! "This American Life" the Radio/ Television show that tells the stories of people all around the country. This show is just amazing, I love everything about it. But let me tell you how this show caught my attention. Im off track so naturally I only work and then come home and play, its just the rule of life hahaha, but anyway one day i decided to come home and watch a little TV. I turned on my Netflix machine and browsed through the shows and movies finding something that was at least captivating my attention a bit. I decided to settle for the show with a poster/cover that had a man that looked like he was in his late 40 standing in a field covered by snow and a clear blue sky behind him. The cover read "Funny. Dramatic. Surprising. True This American Life A New Series of Real-Life Stories" It seemed to be an adequate choice for the night so i started with episode 1: Reality Check. I was immediately captivated by the inspiring and amazing story i was hearing, a elderly home was feeling down and so they decided to make a film that they wrote, directed, and produced. They would be all elderly actors and they would submit it to the Sundance Film Festival. I don't know why this caught my attention so much, when i noticed, it was 4am and i had finished all of season 1. I began to want more and more, I finished season 2 quickly after that and saw captivating stories like the men that made a rope out of dental floss which they used to escape from jail, or the boy who said he didn't believe in Love... Literally. I sat and watched countless hours, I think what i loved about this show was the fact that i was able to have a little glimpse into the thoughts a person had or the emotions they must have felt. I was ready for season 3, but then i quickly realized... it had ended. Netflix didn't have a season 3! I did a little research and found out that the show had been cancelled. WHAT! I was angry, nervous, sad, and a lot of other feelings i can't explain. It had ended. Thankfully the show is based on a radio show that Ira Glass (that's the guy that narrates these) started in 1995. So now ive given myself a new task--- listen to all his shows. They are an hour long and there must be more then 400, but I'm excited. I hope that not to late in my life, i will be able to submit my own story, for all of the country to hear. I first need something interesting, anything that will captivate Ira Glass' attention and that he will say "this girl is worth a story". I want whoever is reading this, to look for the show, give a chance, listen to a few because some are not as interesting as others, but i warn you.... YOU WILL BECOME ADDICTED! :)

Sun Valley!

So I did something I had never done before! I WENT SNOWBOARDING AND SKIING! :) It was so fun!! I had to wake up at 5:30am and walk early in the freezing morning to the ORC on campus. I waited for about 30 min till everything was loaded and then it was time to go. I rode in a van for 3 hours and a half next to a married couple (really close to the husband), hitting my head on a little bum on the window, and not sleeping a wink. Then we arrived! :) It was like I had arrived in Heaven, golden gates, gold toilets, and waiters! It was beautiful and amazing. Definitely my kind of ski resort! I had no idea what I was gonna do because I had never done it alone. But I thought I would just wing it. But then I noticed, I didn't even know how to put on the skis! And right then my friend Matt came out the doors! He offered to hang with me and teach me the ropes. We went up the easiest slope in the mountain, but it was still really hard. I kept falling and running into the edge of the hill, face planting it into a pile of snow.
But don't worry that didn't get me down. I kept my head up all the way to the baby hills. ") I let Matt go ahead and enjoy his time at the big slopes and I continued to work my way up on the baby slopes. I felt funny getting in line behind 5 year olds and 3 year olds, but it was really fun. At the end of the day I got back in the car (front seat.. no more married couple or bumping) I arrived in Rexburg safe and sound.. After 5 hours of driving.. after getting lost and being in pain from basically doing a slit one time when i fell, a headache from falling, and insanely happy from having made a new memory!!!

Ps. My family is thinking of going to sun valley for the Christmas Vacation. One word... SWEET!!!

Inspired by Sam Whitney!!

So I've been a little bummed lately with the whole love department! but tonight i talked to one of the best guys i know and he made me realize that there is more to life, and that i just need to be myself and heavenly father will fix everything and make it better! So after having a spiritual high at stadium singing, Sam Whitney took me over to his apartment for crepes!!!! BTW they were delicious! So we got to talking and Stephanie and her roommate were there and Sam just busted out 5 ways to find the right guy! so i want to share them with you because they gave me inspiration and motivation to keep going and not give up!

1. Share your testimony
2. Be yourself
3. Be honest
4. Be Proactive
5. Be His Anchor

Share Your Testimony:
Sam talked about sharing just a little about your testimony will let you find out which guys are worth staying around for and it will allow them to see a side of you that you probably have not shared yet...

Be Yourself:
Girls just be yourself, if the guy asks you out on a date that means you don't have to impress him anymore cause hes already impressed! Just be yourself don't let it intimidate you, just talk to him like you would with friends and buddies.

Be Honest:
Be sincere guys!!! If a guy tells you he hates the color blue don't be dumb and just say "oh me too" be genuine and share your opinion as well! If you hate the color blue say it! "I HATE THE COLOR BLUE"

Be Proactive:
Its ok to ask a boy to go on a double date with you!! be proactive its a two way street you have to put in some effort as well they boy can't be the one to do everything!

Be His Anchor:
Last one... you have to give him support! Let him feel like when he's with you! he will feel safe and at peace. You should be his escape!

Sam Whitney i truly love you for that amazing mini seminar! girls we need to be confident and just forget about boys... but if you like someone go for it!! :) follow the steps! a wise man once said.. "if you are married and one day you walk in on him in the restroom and you see him and still love him... then you know that hes the right one for you!!!!!" hahahahhaaha I had an awesome day!
